Selangor on track to smash RM80bil investment target, eyes RM100bil
SEPANG: NCT Alliance Bhd has started handing over vacant possession of the first phase of its NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) in South Selangor, with the 280-unit phase already recording a take-up rate of nearly 90 per cent.
NCT Alliance executive director Yap Chun Theng said the industrial park will house businesses from various sectors, with a strong focus on technology.
"Our focus is high on technology, but we also have several industries such as automotive, hospitality and the environmental, social and governance sector.
"We also have the waste sector, where we can use technology to replace or manage waste from kitchens. So, we have several industries that are included.
"We do not limit the industries that are included," he said at a press conference after the launch of the NSIP's new phase today.
Yap said most of the businesses currently taking up space at the industrial park were local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), although the developer was also in discussions with an international data centre operator.
"Currently, we have a lot of SMEs that are included. Most of them are local. But now we have a discussion with a data centre party, and we have made an announcement to Bursa Malaysia. They will be the international players," he said.
The property developer also launched KM2, the second phase of NSIP, marking the next stage of the industrial park's development and expansion.
The phase will add 241 industrial units to meet growing demand for manufacturing and industrial space in Selangor.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony last year, KM2 will comprise detached, semi-detached, cluster and terrace factories, as well as industrial land parcels, supported by enhanced smart infrastructure.
The development is part of NSIP, which spans about 368.3 hectares and has a gross development value of RM10.2 billion.
The event was officiated by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Also in attendance were Selangor state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han, NCT Alliance executive chairman and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy and NCT Alliance executive director Datuk Yap Fook Choy.
Amirudin said the park's progress demonstrated the importance of collaboration between the private sector, the state government and relevant agencies in advancing industrial development in the region.
"NSIP has an important role within the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor and in Selangor's continued industrial growth.
"As the development progresses, we look forward to seeing it attract more high-value investments and create quality employment opportunities that will contribute to the state's long-term economic growth," he said.
NSIP is being developed in six phases and is positioned by NCT Alliance as a managed industrial park incorporating digital infrastructure, renewable energy and sustainability features.
Launched in 2023, NSIP is located near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Port Klang and the West Coast Expressway, providing access by air, sea and road.
Phases two and three will expand the park's industrial offerings, while subsequent phases are planned to include commercial components such as a petrol station and shop lots.
